A Nintendo leak reveals that the gaming company takes hacking more seriously than many would have expected.
Although there were many secrets revealed from the new Nintendo leak, the most shocking is the fact that the company takes the attempt of hackers on its systems very seriously. Nintendo has always been known for its strict policies when it comes to its software and hardware.
Its strict policies have even given the firm name, as consumers refer to such as a “fun police” for projects such as modded Pokemon and other projects.
The gaming firm has grown in reputation and consumer base due to the release of the first-party lineup of impressive games like the Nintendo Switch. However, the firm is not without issues, as it’s dealing with some image issues at the moment.
The more recent problem is the backlash coming from the public regarding the company’s handling of the Super Smash Bros. Melee community. It forcefully canceled an online tournament because it was utilizing third-party software as a “mod.”
The affected mod enables users to play Nintendo games online, and consumers and the general public felt the company decided bad taste.
The Super Smash Bros. Melee community is now more unified and stronger even after the setbacks it received from Nintendo.
However, the incident was a sharp reminder that Nintendo may be fronting a family-friendly image, but such an image doesn’t include having a soft spot when it comes to company policy.
Now, @eclipse_tt documented a new Nintendo leak on Twitter, which reveals how far Nintendo is willing to go to destabilize cybercriminals and prevent them from having control of its servers.

The leak showed that Nintendo takes the security of its network extremely seriously even beyond what people may imagine.
A detailed plan to protect its hardware
The leaked document also showed how Nintendo dealt with Neimod, the hackers responsible for cracking the 3DS. To get the entire details and revelations about the hack, Nintendo went as far as getting some personal information about the hackers, including their work schedule, where they live, and their behavior.
The company did everything possible to make sure every detail about the incident is revealed by engaging in an in-depth investigation far beyond what most companies would have time for.
The leak also revealed that the company had strict policies in place to make sure they are contacted and make sure they stop hacking the Nintendo 3DC. The policies and strategies also include an extremely detailed flowchart that shows the best way to go about the process.
Strict policy, a warning sign for hackers
Although the company has been in the news lately which concerns image rights, there is no indication that the recent leak will have any impact on its strict policy structure. The leak will probably not have any dramatic change regarding how it moves forward.
The company is still doing pretty well when it comes to revenues, the invention of the Nintendo Switch gaming console will also add more revenue due to its popularity among gamers.
But the contents revealed in the leak should be a warning to intending hackers of the platform. It should warn them what they are getting into and the extreme level of difficulties for them when they even attempt.
To be candid, the detailed report by Nintendo about the strategies is quite overwhelming, which demonstrates just how far the company is willing to go to make sure its hardware is protected.
Even before this discovery, Nintendo has always insisted that it won’t give hackers the slightest chance to have an entry into its system. And as far as history goes, the company has been true to its words. While many other gaming companies have experienced a series of hacking incidences, Nintendo has been able to keep off the news in that area.
The company has shown grit to respond and crack down even the slightest hint about any hacking plans on its software. It has also stopped potential illegal activities on its platform with swift action.
Generally, companies have strict and protective rules for their IPs and property, but the leak shows Nintendo’s policy was stricter especially in areas of modding.
